Our Story
From Giftware Roots to Luxury Interior Design.
What started four decades ago as a boutique giftware company has evolved into a leading purveyor of luxury passementerie, custom drapery hardware, and artisanal decorative nails. Founded in 1985 by Ursel Thiergart, Brimar initially supplied decorative tassels and giftware to floral shops and retailers like Hallmark. However, the interior design community quickly took notice, seeking out our unique trims for their custom décor projects. Embracing designers’ requests for bespoke styles, Brimar welcomed the challenge and launched its first dedicated trimming collection that became an instant success and permanently shifted our focus to the professional design trade.
An Evolving Legacy.

- 2000 — Launched a diverse, high-quality line of drapery hardware
- 2023 — Acquired a premium decorative nail line
- 2026 — Debuting an artistic line of tassel wall hangings
Today, Brimar is proudly led by Ursel’s sons, Brian and Marc — combining their names to form Brimar (pronounced Bry-Mar).

Our expertise is customization which includes pole bending, ripplefold systems, tracks, Somfy® motorization built right into our rods, and made-to-measure pole cuts to ensure a precise fit.

Secret weapons to nail your designs. Our little metal studs bring big personality. Popular on upholstered furniture and head boards. Carry over to rugs, runners, cornices, walls, doors, room screens and shelving. Equally impactful on case goods like tables, dressers, buffets and desks.
