Does Brimar install the hardware?

No. All hardware should be installed by a professional installer. Brimar is not responsible for damages caused by improper mounting or inadequate support. We recommend a center bracket at all splice points for ample support.

How is drapery hardware shipped?

Most orders ship FOB Lake Forest, Illinois. Pole lengths at or under 96 inches ship via FedEx (or UPS upon request). Rods and components are shipped together for cost savings.

Pole lengths over 8 feet are shipped via common carrier. Poles and components are shipped separately to prevent damage, unless otherwise specified. Poles and components may arrive on separate days based on the delivery company. Tracking information will be provided on your invoice.

Inspect all shipments immediately upon receipt to ensure there’s no shipping damage or missing pieces. If there is shipping damage, please contact Brimar within 48 hours to submit a claim.

Is your drapery hardware sold in sets?

No. Since every drapery project is different, Brimar offers hardware by the individual piece to create a custom-tailored drapery system that takes your drapery design, functionality, window shape, and client’s lifestyle into consideration. Ordering by the piece is economical because exact quantities are ordered opposed to hardware sets which include a generic number of components which often go unused and discarded.

Do you motorize your drapery rods?

Yes. We assemble our drapery rods with motors powered by Somfy® — a brand built for silence. We apply drapery motorization to our Affinity, Innova and Tribeca collections. Choose from wired or battery-operated motors. Both options will automate pleated or ripplefold drapery styles on command by remote, smartphone, tablet or the sound of your voice.

Contact Client Services with your questions or to request a quote. Call 847.247.0100 or email us.

Do you custom bend your drapery rods?

Yes. Brimar is in the business of bending. We’re experts at custom bending our rods in various configuration to fit bay and bow window areas. We also custom curve French Return rods. Before we quote your project, please submit a paper template with your project details. View instructions on How To Create a Pole Bending Template

Note: not all hardware collections can be bend. Also, please keep in mind custom curved rods are non-returnable and non-refundable.

Can poles be spliced together?

Yes. All drapery hardware collections offer a splice option. When ordering online, our website will suggest the proper support needed. To save on freight, we recommend cutting poles in half and splicing them together. Shorter pole lengths are more economical to ship.

Can poles be cut down?

Yes. Poles are sold in standard lengths, however we will custom cut them down to your exact specifications at an additional charge. Choose from straight or mitre cuts. Some collections do not offer both options. Fall off will be sent with the order if requested. It’s important to note, custom cut poles are non-returnable and non-refundable.

What is the lead time?

If the product is in stock and the order is received by 2 pm CST, it ships within 48 hours.

If a product is backordered, we will contact you with a replenishment date.

If an order contains multiple items where one or two items are backordered, we will hold the entire order, or partial ship upon request.

Is drapery hardware difficult to order?

Ordering custom drapery hardware doesn’t have to be intimidating. Our online Custom Hardware Builder will walk you through the ordering process step by step so that you don’t miss a detail to ensure a successful installation. If you’re not quite ready to order, you can build a quote in the Hardware Builder and save it until you are ready to convert it into an order.

If you’re more comfortable talking to a live person, call our Hardware Support Team. They’re standing by to guide you through the process. They are happy to quote your project. Simply email your details with an image and/or drawing to brimar@brimarinc.com to get the process started.

Another way to find hardware on our website is by clicking on the magnifying glass icon in the top left and typing content into the Product Search field. You can enter an item number, collection name, material, product description or brief phrase to produce results.

Can I reserve drapery hardware?

No, drapery hardware products cannot be reserved. However, when placing a firm order, we are happy to hold it until your desired ship date.

Can I order finish chip samples?

Yes. Individual finish chip samples are available at no charge. You must have an account. Keep in mind, some finishes are hand applied by skilled artisans; therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike. Wooden hardware is a natural product where color and grain variations should be expected. Please note, actual product colors cannot be guaranteed to match the product images you see in our printed and digital marketing.

Place your sample order online. Otherwise call us at 847.247.0100 or send an email. Samples are mailed out within 24 hours through USPS® or FedEx 2nd Day (depending on the request), at no charge to the customer. Samples can be expedited via FedEx Express or UPS® at the customer’s expense. Supply your FedEx or UPS® account number so we can apply the charges.

Our Finish Chip Binder contains finishes from our most popular hardware collections. It’s a useful sampling tool to be referenced time and time again. Available for purchase online. You must have a Brimar account to order sampling.

If you’d like to view the hardware finishes in person, visit one of our satellite showroom locations nearest you. We advise you call ahead to make sure the collection you wish to see is on display.
